Summary of 2006 Festivals and Summer Courses

We are currently in the process of organising some further-a-field tours, the Welsh Arts Festival especially helping boost the publicity of our group. During this festival we got to meet such people as Catrin Finch and the whole of Parc and Dare Band. I was brought up in the brass band world, being originally from the North and it certainly brought back many memories for me. My grandad and father both play the trumpet and are always interested how we create new avenues for Bella Tromba. More recently, Dartington was another beneficial week for the group in which we studied some more new pieces we have recently acquired.

After a challenging year of collating a substantial amount of repetoire for the group we can now comfortably perform light/jazz concerts, contemporary themed recitals or a well-balanced programmes including all eras and styles we have in the folder. We also have a some excellent arrangement of pieces directed at the younger end of our audience which we also use for some outreach work and music in hospitals. We are looking forward to continuing to open up more opportunities for the group through to the end of this year and have several projects and plans waiting in 2007.
