Bella Tromba’s trip to Wales

Having travelled up and down the country, Bella Tromba is set to visit Wales for a week from 11th June 2006. We have a great number of exciting things planned. We are going to start off the week playing for Live Music Now which is very rewarding in itself, touching the lives of people who do not normally get the opportunity to hear and interact with live music. We will also be doing some lunchtime and evening recitals, including playing in the “Music Bites” concert series at the Parc and Dare Theatre in Treorchy.
Then after some rehearsals during the week, Bella Tromba will appear in two concerts as part of the Welsh Brass Arts Festival, held at the Parc and Dare theatre in Treorchy, hosted by the Parc and Dare Band. On the Friday evening we will be starting the “Electric Brass” concert with a new overture, written especially for the occasion by Andrew Powell. In this concert we will be performing alongside the likes of Catrin Finch. There will be numerous new pieces written especially for the event, with many using electronics.
On the Saturday Parc and Dare Band are joined by the Stadtorcherstra Ravensburg, from Germany. Bella Tromba will be performing solo and with the two ensembles, which is a great opportunity for us. To finish off our tour of South Wales, we will end in Cardiff at the Millennium Centre on the Sunday, for our own recital at 3pm. It is a week that we are all looking forward to.
